VALUE BASES OF CONSOLIDATION OF RUSSIAN POPULATION

Background. In the modern society there is taking place a transformation of all spheres of life activity, causing significant qualitative and quantitative conversions in the society’s structure. At the present time it is becoming quite relevant to search for factors, on the basis of which it will be possible to unite and join the Russian society. One of such factors may be a uniform value structure. The aim of the work is to disclose basic values of population in consolidation of the society.
Materials and methods. The article analyzes the data of the researches carried out among the population in order to reveal the value structure of the Russian society, including the results of Russian population’s values monitoring (1990–2010) supervised by the famous sociologist N. I. Lapin, the results of the sociological research carried out among students of the Volga federal district, as well as the data of focus-groups, consisting of Penza students.
Results and conclusions. The research results show that in the Russian society there has been formed a “value kernel”, including such values as family, order, communication, that can become the basis of consolidation of various generations.
